Palak paneer for dinner tonight ❤
Its an indian creamed spinach dish with indian spices and fried paneer cheese. Served here with some roti!
2 green chilis de-seeded and chopped
4 cups Spinach leaves
1 onion chopped
1 tomato chopped
1/2 - 3/4 tbsp garam masala
1/2 tsp turmeric
4-5 cloves garlic chopped
1/2 inch ginger chopped
Salt to taste
Sauté 2 chopped garlic with green chilis and spinach for a few minutes. Add in about 3/4 cup water and simmer until spinach is wilted. Pureé spinach mixture and set aside.
In a pan, sauté 3 chopped garlic and ginger in 1 tbsp butter. Add in onions and sweat the mix. Toss in tomato and salt to taste and simmer until softened. Add garam masala and turmeric to the pan and cook the spices for a few minutes. Pour in the spinach mixture and paneer and simmer for 10 minutes. Adjust salt, as needed. Enjoy with jeera rice or roti!
Optional: I like to lightly pan fry my paneer cheese before adding it to the palak (spinach)
