
Homemade pizza dough with tomato sauce, cheese, BBQ chicken and medium sunny side up egg with creamy runny yolk!🍳🍕
Ingredients (Crust):
1 cup warm water
1 1/2 tsp granulated sugar
2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
3 cups all purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp kosher salt
1 tbsp olive oil (more to coat dough)
Toppings:
1/2 jar homemade tomato sauce (refer to my homemade 'Jar'ing our homegrown tomatoes' blog!)
1 cup grated cheese
1 egg
1 cup BBQ chicken
Stir warm water, sugar and yeast together. Let stand for 5 minutes until it foams, rises and you can smell it. Combine flour and salt in a separate bowl. Add the foamy yeast mixture to the flour and knead until it forms a ball. (Check out our Cuisinart Stand Mixer from Amazon - it does the job and we used the knead function on setting 3). Cover the bowl with a plastic wrap and place it in a warm spot for about an hour until it doubles in size. Roll dough into rounds and top as desired. Note: I like to add a think layer of corn meal on the dough prior to adding the sauce. Its a trick used at pizza places and gives the pizza crunch! Enjoy!
