We had a blast ice fishing this week! Our catch of the day? A total of 19 perch and catfish! (wow, right?!) As per fishing rules, we kept 14 and threw 6 back into the water for good luck!
So, I've never really had lake fish but let me tell you, this is the most fresh tasting sweet, firm fish I ever had! So so good! 💕
Featured above is our first prep:
2 tbsp flour
1 beaten egg
2tbsp breadcrumb with salt & paprika
Spicy Mayo (1 part Mayo, 1 part Sriracha and 2 parts ketchup)
Coat perch & catfish in flour, egg and breadcrumb in that order. Fry until crisp. Top on toasted bread with serve with a side of fresh veggies. Note: Filet and skin the perch so you have no bones
