Crispy fried chowmein in veggie sauce


Tried this @soupedup_recipes ..... Sooo good! Crispy chowmein with veggies


Ingredients:

Chowmein noodles

15 mushrooms sliced

2 celery sliced sideways

2 carrots sliced sideways

4-5 garlic

2 1/2 tbsp cornstarch

2 1/2 tbsp water


Place chowmein in boiling water for 60 minutes. Drain the water and rinse noodles in cold water to stop the cooking. Drain. Add 1 tsp sugar, soy sauce, oyster sauce and olive oil to the chowmein and toss well.


Heat 2-3 tbsp in a wok until its smoky. Add in half the chowmein to the wok and fry noodles until crispy on one side. Slightly move noodles around while frying it to ensure that all parts are fried. Flip noodles and fry until golden. Place it on a serving plate and continue the process until all the noodles are fried.


In the same wok, add in about 1 tbsp oil and saute garlic until fragrant. Add in veggies with soy sauce, oyster sauce - add a little salt (if needed). Toss for a few minutes and add about a cup of water and bring to a boil. Heat through until veggies are softened. Mix cornstarch with water and add to the veggie mixture. Remove from heat once the sauce thickens. Serve over chowmein and enjoy! Its sooo delicious!!
